Be sure to check out our Social Media

Hello there! The following series is a kind of journal of our adventure with game development. If you want to take part in it and find out what exactly we do to moveΒ our titlesΒ towards their premiers, check back regularly! Cheers!

GIMLE: THE BROKEN PROPHECY

It’s Friday… and you know what that means, don’t you? That’s right, it’s time for the Summary of Progress no. #2⃣4⃣! The world around us is getting new cool colors, warmth, and joy, and it’s all thanks to… spring! We don’t know about you, but we couldn’t wait to see this awesome season. We continue our work with new strength and enthusiasm, while remembering about our most important assumptions and milestones set in the Content RoadMap. Will spring be kind to us? Will we be able to achieve our goals? And how will our projects change? Well, we can only guess. Either way, we can tell you we’ve been doing this for the last fourteen days – with no guesswork – so it’s time for the latest Progress Summary entry!
The fight goes on - Gimle mechanics remake

If you follow this series regularly, you surely know that we are currently on a crusade to rework, enrich, and improve the main mechanics of the game 🫑 This crusade has been going on for a pretty long time now, but we are pleased to see that we are constantly moving forward and ticking more checkboxes on our list.

As we mentioned before, changes in movement, combat, various interactions, use of items, and other numerous features require a lot of commitment and work. Our approach is that we accept nothing less than perfection – and perfection takes time. When we finally manage to deal with the rework, you will see it with your own eyes! πŸ‘€

Builders of Greece

Welcome back to Ancient Greece, the very cradle of European civilization, where numerous ideas, philosophies, political systems, and city-states clash in a neverending struggle 😁 As we know, it was the place of many heroic events, beautiful landscapes, great heroes, and everyday life of thousands of ordinary citizens. Over the past two weeks, we’ve been trying to make the world you see in Builders of Greece match that vision. Let’s remember that somewhere out there, just over the horizon, the Prologue version of the game (announced in the Content RoadMap) is waiting for us all πŸ“… Currently, our main efforts are focused on reaching this extremely important point in the development of the Builders of Greece project. Let’s see how it’s going!

They're dangerous, they're effective, they're... Hippotoxotes

It is said that when the Spartans were preparing for the battle of Thermopylae, the Persians warned them that their arrows would cover the entire sky…. To which the brave Spartans replied – great! Then we will fight in the shade! πŸ˜„ In fact, only few warriors show such courage in the face of a rain of whistling arrows. And among the marksmen who send such arrows into the enemy ranks, there are no better units than the Hippotoxotes! 🏹 Just look at their shiny helmets, bronze armours, and linen tunics. However, their true strength lies in powerful bows and excellent training. Their projectiles hit targets from a great distance, not to mention their enormous penetrating and wounding power. Don’t they look spectacular?

The design of the units you will command in Builders of Greece is always based on solid research and understanding of ancient warfare πŸ“š We make every effort to ensure that the appearance, character and fighting style of your warriors match their counterparts from centuries ago. Another important element of unit design is aesthetics. Recruiting new troops should be rewarding, not only because of the growing strength of your empire, but also because of their awesome looks βš”

We know you love them 😁 new buildings are here!

Citybuilder games are all about building new things (duh!) 🧱 When designing Builders of Greece, we quickly realized that having more buildings at the player’s disposal meant a few important things. Namely more buildings mean not only satisfaction from the possibility of building larger settlements, but also an engaging process of unlocking them by achieving designated goals, more dependencies in supply and production chains, deeper gameplay, and finally much more splendid models that please the eye with their beauty 😍

This time, we want to show you two buildings that will help to satisfy the hunger of your loyal subjects. The first one is the Mill, thanks to which you can produce valuable flour, which is the basis of many other edible goods. It is no secret that various types of pastries, including different forms of bread, were the basis of the diet of many ancient civilizationsΒ  πŸ₯–Β  Thanks to the mill and the further use of flour it produces, your granaries will certainly not run out of tasty and nutritious food! The Mill is one of the most basic buildings that should appear in every prosperous Polis. However, man does not live by bread alone…

Our artists and designers decided that the Fisherman’s Hut 🐟 needed some changes. We constantly review the quality, functionality, and appearance of the buildings we create and if we decide that any of them can be improved, we immediately get to work. And so, you can see the results of such work above! A base of fishermen who go to sea in search of valuable fish, which by the way are one of the main sources of food for your city, gained many new details and additional authenticity. Quite cozy! Do you think this is worthy of a true sea dog? 🌊

The hard work of slaughterhouse workers

It’s time to get your hands dirty… for the greater good. This is the attitude of slaughterhouse workers. Although they know that their tasks are demanding and rather unpleasant, at the same time they are aware that they are quite necessary for the functioning of society. Thanks to them, their fellow citizens can enjoy an important diet addition in the form of meat. We suspect that the surroundings and smells of slaughterhouses are not the most pleasant  in the world, but life in the ancient world was not always a bed of roses, right? Fortunately, we – the rulers of empires – can take care of somewhat… cleaner tasks πŸ˜…
