Hello there! The following series is a kind of journal of our adventure with game development. If you want to take part in it and find out what exactly we do to move our titles towards their premiers, check back regularly! Cheers!
GIMLE: THE BROKEN PROPHECY
It’s Friday… and you know what that means, don’t you? That’s right, it’s time for the Summary of Progress no. #! There is snow and piercing cold all around, but that doesn’t stop us from continuing our work! After all, we are specialists when it comes to the frosty lands of the North Either way, we can count the last two weeks as decidedly successful. Our projects have been expanded with many important elements and features, which slowly but surely are bringing us closer to big, exciting events… However, let’s leave this behind a veil of secrecy for now, as today we all want to take a closer look at the recap of our latest progress, don’t we?
One of the main pillars of the game - combat ⚔
The fight goes on! Our champions are our programmers and designers, the battlefield is advanced systems and engines, and the opponents are the bugs and… time! This is indeed a glorious struggle. And you know what? We seem to be coming out of it victorious. This means no more, no less than that we continue our work on one of the main systems in the game, which is of course the combat system. We are doing our best to implement a number of interesting, amusing, and simply fun solutions, such as combos, realistic movement while in combat, using special abilities, blocking, and using variety of weapons Soon the dirt and snow will be flooded with the blood of your enemies, soon you will hear the clash of steel… all we need is a little more time!
Floors and walls reveal their secrets
Our texture library is expanding with every passing day! Creating new and unique types of floors and walls gives us great satisfaction and confidence that the world of Gimle will be very rich and memorable. What we want to avoid the most is repetition and boredom. Generic ruins, repetitive dungeons, or lack of the overall variety can effectively make the game dull and break the immersion – and we can’t let that happen!
That is why our graphic designers try to take a good care of even the smallest details. You can see examples of their work on the screenshots up and below! Just look at these awesome rough surfaces, carefully cut tiles, ornaments, and light falling on the whole thing Soon they will be placed on the floors all around the dark Nordic world of Gimle and make you want to explore it even more!
f you want to share your thoughts and opinions on the graphics novelties, be sure to visit our Discord server or Steam Discussions. We always love to hear your feedback, so please don’t hesitate to speak up!
Builders of Greece
The animation goes on!
Bread is not only food, but also a symbol. We identify it with the basic edible commodity that has accompanied humanity nearly since the dawn of time Ancient Greece was no exception here – the streets of former cities also smelled of bread and other pastries that satisfied the hunger of the local population. Today we will see what the work of bakers and their bakery look like!
The most important tool of the baker’s work is the huge oven. Various types of tools, such as trays and bowls, also come in handy. Thanks to high temperature, proper dose of water, flour, and a few other ingredients, the raw dough will soon turn into fragrant, nutritious bread. Yum! The work of a baker requires specialized skills and… caution – we don’t want them to get a burn, right? The animation that you can see above is only a proposal that may be subject to change and improvement in the future – we keep our fingers crossed for you, bakers!
Reliable and realistic approach to buildings in the game
We cannot stress enough how important buildings are in Builders of Greece. As we all know, City Builder games are all about…well, building. For this reason, we devote so much attention and time to them. We deeply care that the construction of every single building is important to the players and makes a difference to their cities. And so, the time has come to reconsider our original ideas and make sure there is nothing more we can do to improve them It turned out that our new Clay Pit concept is somewhat more interesting and authentic than the previous one! Our designers and artists wrote down (in detail!) how exactly this building functions – thanks to their work, you can see how much commitment and planning it takes to design each and every single one of the buildings at your disposal!
Ancient Greece from above
And here is the view from the perspective of the new residents pouring into your city from the surrounding areas. May there be as many of them as possible! We are constantly working on graphical improvements and details so that each zoom-in and out has its own individual character and delights you with its realism. We believe that watching the city you built from different perspectives and distances is great fun! It also gives a lot of satisfaction – if you manage to build a powerful empire from scratch, there is nothing better than flying over its streets.
