Hello there! The following series is a kind of journal of our adventure with developing games. If you want to take part in it and find out what exactly do we do to move our titles towards their premiers, check back regularly! Cheers!
Gimle: The Broken Prophecy
Welcome to the third part of the Summary of Progress series! We are sure you will not be surprised when we say that the last few weeks have been very busy for us. Each day the world of Gimle fills up with new characters, buildings, elements of the environment and an interesting story. It’s a real joy to watch this awesome universe come into being! Let’s see what’s new in the dark world of Norse legends!
An authentic and credible world
From the beginning of work on Gimle: The Broken Prophecy, our goal was to make the world presented in the game as credible and authentic as possible. We want the player traversing cities, ruins, forests or ice caves to believe what he sees. That’s why we make sure Gimle is packed with thoughtful details.
You can see one of the examples below. The old boat with holes seems useless at first glance. However, not for the inhabitants of Gimle! They decided to turn it over, cover it up with old sail material and give it a second life as a marketplace! During the game you will be able to visit dozens of such places – pretty cool, huh?
Weapon and armor Racks
In the dangerous world of Norse myths, weapons and armor must always be at hand. The player will certainly quickly get used to the sight of racks full of such equipement. Swords, spears, axes and daggers are perfect for crisis situations – remember to always have them by your side!
One more element is worth paying attention to. In addition to combat values, war equipment… well, looks cool. Some racks and weapons can be true works of art – we are sure players will appreciate such details and take a moment to admire them!
Builders of Greece
In the last parts of Summary of Progress series, we showed you the designs of the various buildings that you will be able to place in your Polis. Buildings are undoubtedly a very important element of the gameplay, however today we will focus on the biome and the surroundings of your city.
The life-giving sea
Historically, all of the largest Greek cities were built in close proximity to water – rivers, lakes, streams and, of course, the sea. And for good reason! The sea opens up a wide range of possibilities such as efficient trading, fishing or carrying out military actions. In Builders of Greece we want to reflect the importance of the sea and allow you to freely take advantage of its benefits.
Over the past few weeks, our graphic designers and animators have been trying to give the water a natural, realistic look. The reflections of light, foaming waves and the sand along the coast are always quite a challenge, but we think we can all agree that they did quite well!
